Kit

  * Sony DSC-F505V
  * Nikon D70s
  * Ricoh GR Digital
  * Ricoh GR Digital II
  * Hello Kitty disposable camera
  * Ricoh GR1s
  * Epson RD1s

I thought id take a pic of my cameras. I have to say i like all except the rubbish sony camera I bought 8 years ago on the far left. The Nikon D70s is ok but really to heavy and bulky to carry around. The 2 GRD are just superb. The GR1 is the best looking camera in the world, i just wish they would make a GR1d. The RD1s although as heavy as 3 GRD has a wonderful feel and build quality and classic camera controls.

Hi Valerie,

Thank you for reading my blog and leaving a comment :)
I actually have both Ricoh GRD's the version 1 which is getting quite old now but still working very well and the version 2 which I bought in December last year if I remember right. The RD1s is my newest camera actually which was bought brand new in June or July.

You should hang on to your GRD(1) and treasure it as they are apparently very hard to get hold of now either new (virtually impossible) or second hand on the bay.

Nice pictures on your Flickr. Were they all taken with the GRD?

This is a nice gear shot. Thanks for sharing. After shooting film many years ago I started with Digital with an Olympus C1. Then I got a Minolta F300 and then the D70. The D70 was amazing but bulky. I replaced it with a D40 and D40x. Just got a Ricoh GX200 as carry everywhere camera.

Kind regards,

Marco

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your comment :)

I see you are going for smaller and smaller cameras. I bought the GX100 in Japan for my girlfriend and she really likes it. I got to use it from time to time and it's a fine peice of equipment. Not really tried the GX200 but from a bit of handling in the shop it seems great. Did you get to try out the GR Digital?

Hi Tom,

I enjoy reading your blog. Yes, indeed I like small cameras. Now, if I had to shoot everyday for making a living I would probably go bigger like D300/D700. Unfortunately, I have never tried the GRD. I am kind of waiting for the GRD III that hopefully has a bigger sensor. I did try a Panasonic LX3 in the shop.

Nice set of kit.

My GRD1 is old and it's acting now.
I guess GRD3 is coming...
